NZPC Sex Workers' Collective is a New Zealand wide organisation, which is run by sex workers for sex workers. We advocate for the rights, health, and well being of all sex workers. We are a grass roots not for profit organisation. We provide information and services for people who are doing sex work or thinking about doing sex work.
The New Zealand Prostitutes' Collective is run by sex workers, for sex workers, and advocates for the rights, health, and well being of all sex workers. We are committed to working for the empowerment of sex workers, so that sex workers can have control over all aspects of their work and lives.
Our services focus on workers rights, HIV and STI prevention, and education. We also provide safer sex supplies to sex workers, and offer free sexual health clinics at our community bases.
NZPC has long been at the forefront of reforming the law for sex workers. We helped draft the Prostitution Reform Act which decriminalised sex work in New Zealand, and built support for it as it passed into law.
NZPC provides expert advice to those with an interest in law and policy surrounding sex work in New Zealand. We are also a crucial point of liaison between government and non-government civil society, and the sex industry.
The New Zealand Prostitutes Collective (NZPC) is a sex worker lead organisation who began in the 1980’s. The collective is a vital resource and provides services for all sex workers, whether they are new to the industry, or well accustomed. Whether it be condoms needed, a sexual health check or just a safe space to chill out, you can find this at the NZPC.
NZ Pleasures met with Catherine Healy to learn more about the NZPC. Rather than present a list of questions, the following video flows on its own. Calum Bennachie and Chanel Hati also graciously lent themselves to talking about male and trans sex workers respectively.
These can be found at the NZPC’s in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
